We have come to a point in society that we think all ideas are equal and deserve the same consideration in the market place. I don’t agree. Some ideas are more equal than others. Along this line is the thinking that truth is relative. Well, I would just say that you are certainly entitled to that opinion but please, please, think and rethink - you are NOT entitled to your own Truth. The very nature of truth demands that it has to be true everywhere, for everyone and for all time. It is not relative. It is cute to say, ‘well, that maybe true for you, but it is not true for me. I have my own truth.’ Really, your own truth? Hum, then you defy nature and all logic. One quote from C.S. Lewis and I close. ‘“If one has to choose between reading new books and reading the old, one must choose the old: not because they are necessarily better but because they contain precisely those truths of which our own age is neglectful. The standard of permanent Christianity must be kept clear in our minds and it is against that standard that we must test all contemporary thought. In fact, we must at all cost not move with the times. We serve One who said, ‘Heaven and earth shall move with the times, but my words shall not move with the times’” (Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33)
Thank you Sir (or Miss) for this submission. Well stated.
Relative Truth, ironically, is the biggest lie there is.
