Anonymous asked: Thanks, I thought surviving child prostitution and just wanting equality SOME equality qualified me as a feminist. Now I realize that to have the rights of a feminist, I must: 1-be married. 2 - wake up before everyone in my family and cook them food 3- make the bed and sew my own clothing 4 -wear specific fabrics. 5- depend on my husband to get me respect in society. I thought as a woman I got...

Church Clothes - Purpose, Passion and Progression →
The truth is: God is still at work!  Thanks to everyone who is downloading and spreading the “Church Clothes” mixtape.  I’m blown away at the response. It’s humbling and pushes me to keep going.   At the beginning of my musical career, my intention was to enrich and give hope to the listener (it still is). I was volunteering at a halfway house, and the young men there embraced...

…Homosexual! Yeah, what is your best guess of America’s Homosexuality percentage? Chances are, you will be shocked by the answer. Click headline for full article. Only 4 percent of all those surveyed in 2011 and about 8 percent of those surveyed in 2002 correctly guessed that fewer than 5 percent of Americans identify as gay or lesbian. Can We Trust the Bible? (Part 2 of 10)
It is my hope that by now, you have read PART 1: If not click the link. If you have, continue on… The 2nd witness or evidence for the Bible’s trustworthiness is…  2. ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES Archaeology could never prove that the Bible is divinely inspired, but it can help build a case for the historical reliability of the Bible. And it certainly has. For the past 150 years...

Can We Trust the Bible? (Part 1 of 10)
The Bible is unarguably an incredible book. It is the best-selling, most quoted, most published, most circulated, most translated, most influential book in the history of mankind. There is no close second. But why should anyone believe that the Bible is actually true?  Might not the Bible be a fraud? Might not it be an ancient book of mythology, filled with the fanciful, yet deceitful writings...

Pew Research Center polls have found that African Americans have become more supportive of same-sex marriage in recent years, but remain less supportive than other groups. A poll conducted in April showed 39 percent of African-Americans favor gay marriage, compared with 47 percent of whites. The poll showed 49 percent of blacks and 43 percent of whites are opposed. The Human Rights Campaign, a...

Long read, but very good. :) An often ignored subject in the Church. It shouldn’t be, honestly. The church is one place the conversation on SEX does belong, given that marriage is a sacrament governed by the Church… first, then government second.

Growing "Out" of Purity? - Jordin Sparks
Im not one to care much for Celebrities… but I do like to keep an eye on those Christian celebrities, as their faith often is in the forefront of the careers (i.e. Underwood, Tebow or Lin). Some see it as their duty to tear down said individuals beliefs or prove them hypocritical: see here  Not often do you see a Christian celebrity deliberately shedding-off their beliefs they once stood so...

Chances are you heard by now that the President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, has thrown his support behind Sam-Sex marriage. Hey Christians, stop reading your Bible...
What? Here me out for a second.  I will try not to make this too long. I feel like Christians trap themselves into little bubbles, be it hanging out with Christian friends and only going out to Christian events, or relying solely on the Bible as their means of practicing the Faith. Stop it! Christianity is a Faith of Action. Christ pursued relationship with people, he helped the sick, he hung out...

The flow is still the same though, just more geared towards the secular audience.  This has been a highly anticipated mixtape that has met expectations that I’m sure...

Answering an Anon...
Anon: Dear Kenny, this is a three part question: 1) What is it in the life of yours? 2) Do you feel very connected with the african american community? 3) Can you hang out with other people that does not share the same faith as yours? May I need to remind you to go in depth with your answers please.
Me: I Anon... totally random, but appreciate it!
Me: 1) I think this question was going somewhere but didn't, yet in a way... its brilliant. "What is it in the life of yours?" The answer is Jesus Christ. Plain and simple. If you look through the lens of the Word of God (which is like a corrective lens that looks into past, present and future) then you will be enlighten beyond the greatest of great philosophers. Philosophers sought truth... we, Christ followers, have obtained it.
Me: 2) Good question, and the answer is, yes and not really. My GF of 4 years is black :D haha. Growing up, in the Housing projects (LA- San Pedro), I kind of grew a bad taste for black people... as I did "hard-core"Mexicans. Odd, given I am Mexican and Black (specifically Spanish, Mayan, Cuba + African/Creole(French?)). The image I saw of these minorities (blacks in particular) was not a good one, so I suppose I veered away from it. I always pursued academics and wanted to get to a better place in life, so I spent lots of time inside and not ON the streets like many of my friends. That said, I can relate to the AA community (I prefer black) given part of my family is black, I was raised mixed, I have plenty of black friends.
What irks me, and what makes it difficult for me to get along with the black community is that 1) Christianity is choked in it. Lots of blacks are Christian... by name. Sunday church goers, they dress up, but the next day they're the homie on the block. I hate that. 2) Blacks seem to be too fixated on their position and not fixated on fixing it (I blame Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for their stupid racial-political bend). 3) I am conservative, and as a conservative many blacks look at me like I am a traitor or "uncle Tom." No, I am conservative because of strong social-religous reasons and strong economic understanding (more libertarian on this end). I feel like we all have a liberal mindset, but once we actually read into what that means (from a political perspective) lots of people would realize "oh heck this is not me." I am very much a constitutionalist. 4) Blacks like to hang with black - much like Asians seem to flock to other Asians. I don't like a homogenous crowd, I like it mixed. Something that reflects my own being I suppose (which I suppose is the full-blooded ethnicities reasonings as well). I think group-think can become dangerous.
I can go on about this... but I will not. So I will keep it at "somewhat." I always get labeled as "puerto rican" or something like that because I have Hazel Eyes... but nope. I am Blaxican. Lol, my favorite question is "What are you?" or "wait...why are you conservative?" or "How did that happen?" (When questioning my race or socio-religious stance).
Me: 3) Absolutely! I will go on to say, if I do not, then Im doing a bad job as a Christian. Now mind you, it is important for me to keep good fellowship/company. Its easy to get pulled away and fall into sin with non-Christian friends. If you are weak here, then stay away. If you are not, awesome!!! Its GREAT for me as a Christian to spend time with non-Christians so that I can live out the Gospel and share with those who don't know it in a personal way as myself. Christ hung out with the "unbelievers" or those who did not share His views... so I will and should make it a purpose too.
[P.s. If you were wondering, I copy-pasted this from my photo-blog... Idk why it was directed to that blog and not this one]

blakebaggott: One of my professors told me that I probably believe in my parents more than I believe in God. I was taken aback. I asked, “Now, how in the world could you say that?” He asked me a few questions. “Do you believe that God is omniscient?” He asked. “Yes,” I replied. “Do you believe He is omnipresent?” “Yes.”  “So then, answer me this, what would you do if your parents in on you and...
